Focus and scope

USFQ Law Working Papers is an academic-legal series of continuous diffusion, with opening for professionals authors and open access contents. It introduces in Ecuador a new type of academic interaction that, due to its particular characteristics, has the potential to be a pioneer in redesigning the public discourse of Law. Its objective is to disseminate working papers with a legal impact, which can cover any subject of the branches of this science and its relations with other areas of knowledge, for which it is aimed at the legal community and other related disciplines, with national and international scope.

USFQ Law Working Papers disseminates original academic and scientific articles, interviews, reviews or translations of other publications, among others, in Spanish or English. The contents are the sole responsibility of their authors, who retain ownership of all rights to their work. The dissemination of the documents is determined, case by case, by the Editorial Committee. Peer review is dispensed with in order to give the entire academic community the opportunity to participate, through the presentation of new works, in the discussion of all the contents disseminated.

USFQ Law Working Papers was born, managed and disseminated as an initiative of Professor Johanna Fröhlich (Ph. D.) and a group of alumni from the College of Jurisprudence of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito USFQ (Ecuador). Its dissemination is carried out thanks to the support of the Institute of Legal Research USFQ (Ecuador).

Mission

USFQ Law Working Papers introduces a new type of dissemination in Ecuador that, due to its particular characteristics, has the potential to be a pioneer in redesigning the public and academic discourse around Law in the country. The values ​​that we want to promote through this project are honesty, academic quality, diversity of opinions, open and inclusive dialogue, and easy, dynamic, and fast access to academic articles. The objective is to give visibility to all the academic or professional opinions that reach the appropriate quality of the works.

Vision
This initiative seeks to mark a change of worldview in a new generation of lawyers and, as a consequence, promote a new culture of legal dialogue. To give concrete form to this change and transform the academic and professional discourse in Law, according to the values ​​mentioned, USFQ Law Working Papers aspires to create a community of lawyers with an academic interest to put this new dialectic into practice. Our vision is that, in a few years, USFQ Law Working Papers can become a point of reference for academic legal discourse with the participation of the most important actors in legal science and, in the same way, with the talents of the new generations. .

Periodicity

There is no defined periodicity for the dissemination of the Working Papers. The reception and management of new articles remains open permanently.
