Judicial Treatment of Gender Violence in International Law

The judicial system has become the stage of new kinds of violence for victims. Legal systems have been structured in a violent way and the recognition of women's human rights is recent. When victims of gender violence decide to present a denounce they are confronted with justice operators who follow discriminatory cultural patterns.
This research develops a critical analysis of human rights and compiles the advances made by international human rights law and the standards developed by the jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights regarding access to justice for women victims of gender violence.
